EPA Prize for PhD Thesis in Photochemistry
The laureates of the first EPA PhD prize, which have been selected amont 23 nominees are:
Maria ABRAHAMSSON
From the University of Uppsala (Sweden) for her thesis entitled: Tuning of the excited-state properties of Ru(II)polypirydiyl complexes
Alexandre FÜRSTENBERG
From the University of Geneva (Switzerland) for his thesis entitled: Ultrafast excited-state dynamics in biological and in organised environment.
The prize ceremony took place during the XXIInd IUPAC Symposium on Photochemistry in Gothenburg, Sweden. After having received their prize from the hand of the EPA President, Dimitra Markovitsi, both laureates gave a lecture on their PhD work.
The second EPA Prize will be attributed during the XXIIIrd IUPAC Symposium on
Photochemistry which will be held in Ferrara, Italy in 2010. The awarded will present their work at the Symposium. |
